Welcome to the Grade 5 class blog
I would like to welcome you to Grade 5. My name is Phil Haigh and I am the Homeroom teacher for 5H. This year will again be an exciting time for me, working with Grade 5 students once more. For the benefit of those parents I have yet to meet, this is my second year teaching at Saint Maur having taught for a number of years in Hong Kong, and before that in Qatar and Vietnam.
The aim of this blog is to provide an easily accessed location for students and parents to visit and observe what activities the students are involved with during their time in school. New resources will be added from time to time to aid in the ongoing development of the student through reinforcement activities at home. I encourage parents to allow access to these sites when time allows.
In addition, I strongly encourage dialogue through comments, especially from students. I also encourage parents to become involved in student work by also posting comments. Please use the following guidelines to make the class blog an inviting environment:
• Make your comment interesting and relevant; stay on topic.
• Always strive to encourage others by posting constructive feedback.
• If you disagree with something, be respectful when submitting a comment.
• Does your comment make sense? As with your writing in class, edit your spelling, grammar and punctuation before submitting your comment.
Please enjoy the blog.
